English Text

What an untradtional picture for a 1st Communion you might think. The explanation is that we had called upon Joy’s professional expertise, whom you can see busily directing our 5 first communicants after the Mass. Very soon you will be able to see both them, together with our priest and the proud parents.

It was a festive Mass with Andrew, Laura, Amanda, Jesika and Alexandra as the main point of focus. They were all well prepared thanks to their excellent teacher Ophelia, which meant that they could contribute to the  liturgy with prayers and thanksgivings. Father Jude strayed some what from the manuscript which he sent to me (and can be read under Søndags Prædiken). He spoke direct to them about the great gift for which  they were prepared. The Eucharist was the greatest gift which never grew old nor could be replaced by something newer. The Eucharist is food for the souls he explained. After the Mass Ophelia and her two daughters; Tanja and Lisa, received a present from the parents in recognition of the work they had done to prepare the children.  The reception after the Mass was influenced by the fact that, after the long photo session, the children and their parents were busy in preparing to go home for a more private party; something we can all understand. Thanks to Suzanne and our African choir which sang during the Mass. Yet again congratulations to Andrew, Laura, Amanda, Jesika and Alexandra.
